  Each year thousands of perfectly good wood windows are taken to the landfill and replaced with new windows. Many times these windows could have been repaired for a few dollars but are replaced with inferior windows at a terrific expense of thousands of dollars.

  Many windows are replaced to gain energy efficiency when in fact the existing windows can offer similar efficiencies at a fraction of the price, by reglazing with Low E glass.

  Sometimes wood windows appear to be rotted beyond repair but this is very rarely the case. Most wood window parts can be replaced to like new at a fraction of the cost of new windows.

  Casement windows are notorious for rot in the sill area. This failure was not the fault of the window but of improper preparation for installation.

  When the windows were delivered to the job site they were to be painted or stained on all surfaces before installation. On a building site this usually doesn't happen and the windows were installed with "raw unprotected surfaces" that eventually fail.

  Sills can be replaced with a minimum of mess and refinishing. The replacement sill(s) are made of treated and primed wood with composite exterior parts. These sills are made to last. The windows in your home were the best windows available at the time your home was built. These windows can be restored to good condition at a fraction of the cost of new.
